ETHICAL DILEMMAS IN THE PRACTICE OF SOCIAL WORK: CONTENT AND MECHANISMS TO OVERCOME
Abstract
In professional activities, a social work specialist faces difficult situations in which he has to make a choice between equivalent ethical values and / or interests, associated with the definition of alternative courses of action and awareness of the consequences of the decision taken. The resolution of such situations is facilitated by the use of mechanisms for overcoming ethical dilemmas. An analysis of the results of an empirical study on this issue showed its relevance, specificity and preference for the use of each mechanism by specialists in practical social work, and made it possible to suggest areas for improvement.
