LINGUISTIC AND STYLISTIC FEATURES OF OSCAR WILDE’S SHORT STORY “THE SPHINX WITHOUT A SECRET”
Abstract
The article is devoted to one of the most interesting stories of the famous English writer Oscar Wilde “The Sphinx Without a Secret”. Its defining characteristics are the wonderful stylistic devices and a light mystery around the main character. The purpose of the analysis from the perspective of decoding stylistics is to show how all this affects the reader, leaving an unforgettable impression of what he has read.
